REV. FR. ENRICO EMMANUEL A. AYO
EPISCOPAL COMMISSION ON FAMILY AND LIFE
Dear Fr. Ayo,
“If the situation does not improve, Christianity is on course for extinction many of its biblical heartlands within a generation, if not before.”
This is a quote from the “Persecuted and Forgotten”, A Report on Christians Oppressed for their Faith 2013-2015 released by the Aid to the Church in Need. We greet you with those words to highlight the extent of the persecution of Christians in the world today and most especially in the “Biblical heartlands” where we trace the stories of our faith.
Aid to the Church in Need, (ACN), founded in 1947 as a Catholic Aid Foundation for war refugees and recognized as a papal foundation since 2011 is dedicated to the service of Christians around the world, wherever they are persecuted or oppressed or suffering material need.
It has recently opened a national office in the Philippines which joins 22 national fundraising offices all over the world. Its international headquarters is in Konigstein im Taunus, Germany.
The President of the Foundation is Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, a post assigned directly by the Pope. Executive President is Baron Johannes Heereman von Zuydtwyck of the Knights of Malta in Germany.
In this regard we wish to invite you members of the Family Ministry to two events in November to formally launch ACN Philippines. We invite you to the following:
National Conference on Persecuted Christians
