History | Familia started in 1993 as a family life apostolate of Ang Ligaya ng Panginoon Community (LNP) – a covenanted Christian Community in Metro Manila founded in 1975.
LNP’s experience in the family life renewal dates back to 1980 when it started an evangelistic program directed towards Christian couples. Since then LNP has had a fruitful ministry in family life. It has served many dioceses in the Philippines and other countries. Familia started in 1993 with an official recognition in the Archdiocese of Manila by Bishop Teodoro Bacani. Since then, Familia has spread out and gained acceptance on other dioceses throughout the Philippines. Registered with SEC in 2001. |

Composition of Membership | Under the Executive Director are the Heads of Mission, composed Head of Mission for Metro Manila, Head of Mission for the Provinces, Head of Singles Mission for Metro Manila and Head of Singles Mission for the Provinces. Under the Head of Mission are the Sector and Mission Heads. Under the Sector and Mission Heads are the Area Heads and each area are Parish Chapter Heads who handle Homecell Heads. And every homecell head handles a group with a maximum of 5 individual members or 5 couples. |
Main Activities | o Interested participants take an 8-session course called Empowered Christian Living Seminar (ECLS).
o At the end of the seminar, committed participants are brought into small groupings called Homecells, meeting of which is once a week. o After the ECLS, the members undergo a formation program and are provided sustaining and life-giving Christian teachings as follows: PHASE 1: Foundation of Christian Living (FCL) FCL 1: Our New Way of Life FCL 2: Discipleship Formation FCL 3: Our Life and Mission FCL 4: Spiritual Gifts FCL 5: Marriage Enrichment Retreat/Women’s Recollection PHASE 2: Discipleship Series (DS) DS 1: Christian Personal Relationship DS 2: Freedom in the Spirit DS 3: Christian Service |
