The festival of lamps is here. Taken at home. using an oil lamp, a black backgroun. The lamp is placed on glass and little bit of painting by a pen torch is used to illuminate the faces (of Ganapathi or Lord Ganesh and Devi). Deepavali is a Sanskrit word – Deepa meaning light and Avali, meaning a row. In Hinduism, across many parts of India and Nepal, it is the homecoming of Rama after a 14-year exile in the forest and his victory over Ravana.[5] In the legend, the people of Ayodhya (the capital of his kingdom) welcomed Rama by lighting rows (avali) of lamps (dĭpa). – taken from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deepavali)
