Dear Fellow Advocates,

Greetings of Peace!

Save Our Schools Network, a network of child-focused organizations and educational institutions, is inviting you to join the Moving-Up Ceremony of the students this coming March 29, 2019 at the College of Home Economics, University of the Philippines – Diliman. This will be the culminating activity of the Bakwit School in Metro Manila this year. After this, the Lumad Bakwit School will return to Mindanao to continue their schooling in their own communities. Intensified militarization under Martial Law in Mindanao causes severe dislocations and suffering to the Lumad students, but inspite of these they are enthusiastic to continue their studies that give them more reasons to fight for their right to education and defend their ancestral lands.

In line with this, we are asking you and your good office for any support that would ensure the success of the Moving-Up Ceremony. Your contribution will also be used for the transportation of the students back to their communities. Your help will be most appreciated and will givemore inspiration to these children.

For more details, please contact Ms. Geming Andrea A. Alonzo at mobile # 0930 494 0342.

For the Lumad,
Eule Rico Bonganay
Salinlahi Secretary General
Save Our Schools Network – National Lead Convener

The Real Score

17 November 2018
Dear Brothers & Sisters:
The peace and love of the Lord!

We believe that human life is sacred and that the dignity of the human person is the foundation of a moral vision for society. This belief is the foundation of our commitment for the protection of human life and promotion of human rights.

Today, this foundation is being attacked as the government’s ‘war against illegal drugs’ targets with impunity the lives of the poor that rightfully reserve government services and needing constructive intervention. Today, we are being forced to live in fear and uncertainty.

In this midst, our faith impels us even more to protect the life and dignity of every human person and make this journey along those directly afflicted. Part of our prophetic mission is to become bridges and builders of collective action and cooperation between and among communities and organizations that seeks to address the catastrophe that the ‘war on drugs’ has brought to us as a people.
Ours is the honor, therefore, to invite you to join us in The Real Score: A National Conference on Upholding Life, Dignity and Justice in the Midst of Duterte’s ‘War on Drugs’ on December 7, 2018 from 8am to 5pm at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Gymnasium, Intramuros, Manila. Your presence will offer great testimony to the aspirations of our people for justice, peace and respect of human dignity.

We are fervently hoping that you will save the date in order to join the voices calling to stop the killings and demanding accountability and to share your experiences and lessons in supporting victims and advocating for life and justice. We will communicate further details of the program in the coming days.

We are requesting a donation/registration of P100 from each participating advocate to help in the food and in other logistical needs of participating victims and families. For confirmation or queries, you may reach the conference secretariat through Rise Up at (02) 925-1786, +639171289347 or rise.up.phils@gmail.com. Thank you for celebrating with us the hope and joy in solidarity and collective action!

Prayer for the Closing of the
Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons

O God Most Loving Father,
You called us to be fully and ever united to
You and with one another as members of the One Body of Christ. In
Jesus, your Son, we confidently move forward in the spirit of
collaboration and co-responsibility journeying as one family in faith,
hope and love.

As we close this Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons, we
thank You for the gift of their vocation from and for Your People.
Pardon them in their weaknesses. Guide, strengthen, protect and
embrace them to persevere in their continuous personal conversion.
May they always become humble bearers of the Gospel of Your love
through their joyful service, suffering and sacrifice.

As we welcome the Year of the Youth, May all of us be renewed
Servant-Leaders of communion for the New Evangelization.
Make us gracious in affirming the beauty and giftedness of the Filipino youth.
Encourage us to accompany the young to fulfill their mission in loving service.
With Mary, Star of the New Evangelization, may we continue to be agents of transformation in our country and in the world.

Amen.
