February 8 is Day of Prayer on Human Trafficking

Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines
EPISCOPAL COMMISSION ON YOUTH

Dear fellow youth ministers,

Greetings in our Lord Jesus Christ!

The Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and the International Union of Superiors General has designated February 8, Feast of St. Josephine Bakhita, as an annual day of prayer and awareness against human trafficking.

Our office wishes to invite at least 10 of your youth ministers to join us for an afternoon of prayer for victims and survivors of human trafficking and for those who work to put an end to it. Join other advocates against human trafficking for a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at two o’clock in the afternoon at the Asilo de San Vicente de Paul along United Nations Avenue, Ermita, Manila, followed by a forum and a Prayer March which will culminate with an ecumenical Candle Lighting Activity at Plaza Ferguzon in Ermita, Manila.

Together, let us join hands as we continue to fight this scourge upon the body of Christ. I earnestly hope that you will be sending youth ministers to this celebration. Kindly reply to this email to confirm your participation in this prayer activity.

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Fr. CONEGUNDO B. GARGANTA
Executive Secretary
