Good day PMPI partners and friends!
The Philippine Misereor Partnership, Inc. (PMPI) is a partnership between and among over 260 non-government organizations (NGOs), peoples’ organizations (POs), church groups in the Philippines, and Misereor, the overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Germany based in Aachen, Germany. It is a venue for continuing dialogue and sharing of initiatives, resources, expertise and best practices among the partners as well as a venue where common development agenda and strategic directions are formulated for coordination and common action.
In our search for a sustainable development framework and our work to fight for our environment and the rights of the future generation to a healthy and balanced ecology, we are faced with numerous challenges that even our best environmental laws could not protect us from. Hence, the concept of giving the earth legal rights to exist, flourish, and regenerate for it to be able to fulfill its role in the natural ecological processes or the Rights of Nature has been conceived.
In this regard, we are organizing the very first of a series of fora to discuss and explore the elements that will give nature’s rights which will later become pillars of a bill that we plan to submit to congress through a policy advocacy. The forum will be on 21 June 2018 from 1:30PM to 6:30PM.
