Our warmest greetings of peace and solidarity!
On September 5, 2018 the missionary visa of Sr. Patricia Fox will expire. It had been publicly known that President Duterte did order for her deportation. We considered the decision of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to accept the petition to review the Bureau of Immigration (BI) deprtation case against her as an initial victory for her as well as the basic masses that supported her fight to continue her mission of serving the poor. While we heave a sigh of relief her continued stay in the Philippines is yet again threatened by the expiration of her missnary visa albeit her application for a new one.
To show our support to Sr. Pat and all other human rights defenders, we, the Solidarity with the Poor Network, are organizing a forum and solidarity gathering on September 4, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm at the St. Joseph’s College Audio-Visual Room and we would like to invite you and your organization/ congregation/ institution to the said forum.
