Further, it fills my heart to note that our new PPCRV Team since noontime Friday 16 Nov 2018, right after I presented them to Comelec, our partners and media, they literally “hit the ground running”. Preparations for the NLE 2019, including the BOL Plebiscite on 21 Jan 2019 are now going full steam ahead. Some of the plans they are putting on the drawing board are:  updating ICT of PPCRV, especially engaging in social media, upgrading Voters Ed to include digital format of OGV module, developing new modes of youth involvement, systematizing collaboration with Comelec & election partners, new impetus against vote buying & selling, as well as heightened advocacy against fake news, etc. O, their ideas and passion are so contagious.

All I asked of them:

  1. Be faithful to the original PPCRV Vision of CHAMP as CHRIST in our elections through the PPCRV Mission of CHAMP – Clean Honest Accurate Meaningful Peaceful – Elections, remembering always that PPCRV is not an ordinary secular electoral group, but a Church movement that aims to tilt the center of gravity of election exercises toward the poor and the youth.
  2. Be mindful that PPCRV is open to all people of goodwill, believers and non-believers.
  3. Be strict in the observance of being non-partisan and non-violent. PPCRV’s credibility was built on these.

All I ask of you:

  1. Please support the new leadership PPCRV Team with your prayers, remembering always that PPCRV was the first concrete laity response to PCP II, that its call for “Restoring All Things In Christ and being a Community of Christ’s Disciples that is a Church of the Poor” may ever be PPCRV’s foundational stronghold.
  2. Please help them by activating all your parishes for our PPCRV activities and mandate as Comelec’s accredited Citizen’s Arm. NLE 2019 are just 6 months away.
  3. Please communicate with them via the PPCRV National Office your ideas, suggestions, concerns, most of all your encouragement. To achieve communion, communication should be continuous and two-way.

Now I shall go back to retirement, content in the reality that PPCRV, a child of my heart, is in good hands … in God’s, yours and in the new PPCRV Team
GOD IS GOOD. HE LOVES PPCRV.
I love you all … praying for you daily.
Amb. HENRIETTA T. DE VILLA
Chairperson Emeritus
