ALAY KAPWA Telethon

February 20, 2022

Mr. JUN CRUZ
President
Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas
372 Cabildo St.,Intramuros,Manila

Dear JUN !

Greetings from Caritas Philippines!

Typhoon Odette in December 2021 left more than two million families with no homes and sources of livelihoods. The Catholic Church through Caritas Philippines and the Social Action Network was able to readily assist 335,618 families with food, hygiene/medical kits, shelter kits and solar lamps amounting to 114.3 million pesos.

We were able to do this much with the help of everyone who trusted Caritas Philippines and the Church. However, there are still more than a million families in need of shelters and livelihoods. We cannot just leave them behind.

Thus, Caritas Philippines through the invigorated Alay Kapwa Program is raising friends to fund the 400 million pesos Early Recovery Project which aims to provide shelter, livelihoods and trainings to more than 10,000 families from the eleven affected dioceses in Palawan, Negros Occidental and Oriental, Cebu, Southern Leyte, Bohol and Surigao. The friend-raising campaign will kick-off on Ash Wednesday, March 2, 2022 via Caritas Philippines’ social media platforms and other radio/TV partners.

We are hoping that SANGGUNIANG LAIKO NG PILIPINAS can be with us in the collective effort of the Philippine Catholic Church. Kindly endorse our campaign to your member organizations to adopt a family through the following:

Shelter construction: 75,000.00 per unit

Livelihood Support:

  • Cash for Work 5,000.00 per family
  • Farm Inputs 6,000.00 per family
  • Capital Support 110,000.00 per community organization

  • Fishing Boats (motorized) 55,000.00 per family

Our Resource Mobilization Head, Ms. Analyn Julian (julianrm.caritasph@gmail.com/ 09166945278) will coordinate with you in this matter.

Maraming salamat sa patuloy na suporta!

God bless you and your family!

Kudos to Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas!
