Laudato Si 3rd Anniversary Celebration

Dear fellow Earth-lovers and Earth-carers,

Peace flowing from the heart of Mother Earth and from the Heart of the One who has brought Her into being!

On June 18, 2018 we are celebrating the 3rd anniversary of the release of Pope Francis’ encyclical letter on the Care for our Common Home – Laudato Si’. GCCM-Pilipinas has organized, together with their partner organizations and institutions, a celebration of this momentous day. It will be held at St. Kuniberta Strathmann Assembly Hall, St. Scholastica’s College, Manila, 2560 Leon Guinto St., Singalong, Manila. We would deeply appreciate if you could come and join us in this event.

Below is the Program of Activities:

7:00 – 8:00am                         Registration
8:00 – 9:00                            Holy Eucharist
9:00 – 9:30                             Snacks/Intermission
9:30 – 12:30pm                       Deep Journey into Laudato Si Symposium
12:30 – 2:00                           Agape Lunch

The celebration of the Holy Eucharist will be presided by Archbishop Rolando Tria Tirona, OCD, Director of CBCP-NASSA.

The purpose of the Deep Journey into Laudato Si Symposium is to RAISE AWARENESS ON THE URGENCY TO RESPOND TO THE CALL OF LAUDATO SI TO CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME. It is a modification of Pachamama Alliance’s Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium launched in 2005 with the purpose of bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on this planet. Even before the Global Catholic Climate Movement – Pilipinas was established in 2016, some of its personnel have already been sharing and propagating the symposium for several years. With the promotion of Pope Francis’ encyclical letter Laudato Si as GCCM-Pilipinas’ main thrust, Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium module has been modified by the Movement to include the teachings of Laudato Si which is an official church affirmation of what is also being promoted by the aforementioned symposium, and to contextualize it for the Filipino audience.

It is our hope that our celebration of the 3rd anniversary of Laudato Si would bond us together to respond more radically and collectively to the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor. Hoping for your presence and participation.
