Alay Kapwa Lenten Campaign

To All Laiko Members: National Lay Organizations & Arch/Diocesan Councils of the Laity

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

We are forwarding to you the letter to the Bishops from NASSA/ Caritas Phillipines on the Alay Kapwa Lenten Campaign.

Bishop Broderick Pabillo is requesting everyone to support this noble undertaking.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
LAIKO Secretariat

Dear Bishop Pabillo,

Warm greetings of love and solidarity!

This year, following through the theme “Gifted to Give” of the 5th centenary celebration of Christianity in the Philippines, our Alay Kapwa Lenten campaign will kick-off on February 17, 2021, during Ash Wednesday, as we also launch our revitalized AK Stewardship Program.

As the Lenten Evangelization-Action Program of the CBCP, Alay Kapwa brings to light its mission of igniting the faithful to be true members of the Church of the Poor through consistent sharing of time, talent, and treasure.

Thus we would like to take this opportunity to express our most sincere gratitude and high regard for your unwavering response and collective solidarity to serve the poor and the vulnerable through our Alay Kapwa Solidarity Fund collections. We hope to continue to be able to provide timely and concrete humanitarian aid, development programs, and advocacy actions through our strengthened Alay Kapwa initiatives this year and in the future.

Lastly, recognizing your influence on the Catholic faithful, we would like to request your support to disseminate all information and updates, including virtual events, that will unfold during the entire Lenten Season and beyond, to your dioceses and parishes.

This letter also invites you formally to the virtual events that will unfold during the entire Lenten Season. Attached is the detailed schedule of the Alay Kapwa Lenten Webinar Series.

For our continuing journey of generosity and love, we remain,

Fr. Antonio E. Labiao, Jr.
Executive Secretary
Most Rev. JOSE COLIN M. BAGAFORO, DD
