Virtual Gathering of Young Davids

To: All Laiko Members

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Good Day!

We are pleased to endorse to you this invitation from the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth to the “Sana Ol” part of the series of virtual gatherings for young public servants and their supporters this Friday, November 26,  6:00 PM.

As we communicated to you before, this is part of the Young David’s Program where ECY, NASSA &  LAIKO are collaborating to promote good governance especially to your young people.

Kindly encourage your youth groups to actively support and join this very important advocacy.

Thank you.

Greetings in Christ our King!

We have recently celebrated the 36th World Youth Day 2021 yesterday–the first time since Pope Francis moved this annual affair from Palm Sunday to Christ the King Sunday.

The WYD2021 theme, which is also the theme of our coming NYD2021 this December 16, inspires and impels us in youth ministry to accompany the young towards encountering Christ, experiencing His transforming love, and embracing His appointment to be His witnesses today, in all areas of human life and society, including public service.

As part of our commitment to dynamically assist youth ministries who are accompanying young people, including those in public service, the CBCP-Episcopal Commission on Youth, together with committed young Catholics and collaborators from the CBCP-Episcopal Commissions on the Laity and on Social Action, Justice and Peace, is putting together the “Young Davids” program.

Part of this program is the “Sana Ol” series of virtual gatherings for young public servants and their supporters, especially youth ministers.  With fellowship, learning and prayer, this online encounter is a way to gather and accompany our “Young Davids” in living their Christian faith as public servants.

The next virtual gathering is on this Friday, November 26, at 7:00-9:00 PM, dubbed “Sana Ol May Ambag”.  This is open to all young Catholics in public service, as well as to youth ministers who would like to accompany them in good governance that is rooted in Christ.

Registration is needed, as spaces are limited and to help keep the meeting secure; here is the link to the Zoom registration–

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information and further instructions about the meeting.

Please help us reach more young public servants who would like to become “governance missionaries”.  Kindly forward this message to your youth ministry networks and circles of influence.

We also hope that youth ministries will explore this area (i.e. among young Catholics in public service) as an urgent and relevant area of our youth ministry.

With our collective encouragement, promotion and accompaniment, we hope that young public servants–who are very much among the targets of youth ministry–would feel a strong sense of belonging to and experience the Church as a place of welcome, growth and support to their important role as “governance missionaries”.

Thank you for your kind attention!  All for Christ our King!

Yours sincerely,

Rev. Fr. CONEGUNDO B. GARGANTA
